Hello

I bought the digital download version of CK back in June, I think, and it ran fine. Sometime in August my computer had a stroke, I had to put in a new HD and I never got around to re-installing the game. Today I dug out the a disk I had copied the install file to and tried to re-install.

It installed, but I got a message that there was a mandatory download. I accepted that, and downloded a 2MB file. When I tried to start the game nothing happened.

I rooted around on these forums and it seemed like people were being advised to uninstall then re-install and see if that fixes the problem.

I did that, and now when I try to start the game I get a message that says 'You cannot install now. Previous installation has not expired'.

Ideas?

Look in the HOI2 support forum, you will find a sticky thread on how to manually uninstall, just substitute Crusader Kings or CK for HOI2.

Not sure if the Download version has the exact same syntax but it should be simmilar.

The thing with the ondemand version is that you should never be installing from CD. You should just log back on and DLed it from the net.

Thanks for you help, Castellon. I'm a bit confused though, you suggest just logging back in and download the exe again, but log back in to where, using what link?

Well you bought the Ondemand version right?

And you downloaded it from Paradox's vendor.

You should be able to log back into that site and reinstall from there.

Most welcome.
