Problem installing 1.03b patch...

I had the option to chose which patch to download so I took the common English UK one... (because the UK is just accross the north sea fom my country)...

Why can't the North American version just be called the "COMMON" version.... If it is to be used not only in North America but all over the world except for the places where there is a special patch for......


I'm sorry but I'm really annoyed by this....; it'll pass but at this moment I'm very annoyed....

I'm sorry but, to whom it concerns, the world doesn't stop at the borders of North America.....



PS: forgive my rambling, I'm just really annoyed about this.... it cost me more than 3 days, several uninstalls & installs and a double download which takes (with my ancient modem) a very, very long time)

Well if you look at the sticky thread in this support forum, called latest version is X.XX.
You will see that I list the patches by publisher as well.

Strategy First is the distributer for North America, So the Patch for their version is called correctly the North American version.

I guess the question you have to ask yourself is, How did you get a North American version of the Game?
 
I bought my game in a software store in a city called 'Mechelen' which is a city in Belgium....


If I had bought the game through the internet I would have thought about the North American patch earlier....


But anyhow... it works.... and that's the most important.....

Stores sell imports too. ;)

Just remember for future patches that you will need the Strategy First Patch.

Please be careful about being baited into getting your self into trouble.
If you have a problem with what someone has posted you should PM a mod of the forum. I this case me. ;)
 
This is kind of embarassing, but after playing around with regedit for a while to set my install path I seem to have killed the registry entry for HOI. I was hoping that someone could open up regedit and tell me the exact registry keys they have.

I know it starts something like HKLM/Software/ but I have destroyed everything beyond that.

Please no laughing :(

Why not do a full delete and then reinstall.

Just copy your save games to somewhere safe and do a reinstall

Since the only reason to edit the registry is to fix the path for patching, and 1.03B is not compatible with 1.03 saves, you do not need to worry about saves.
 
Well I cannot help you with this since my copy is not the retail release so it is different.

Not a trace of it in my register. I guess RegCleaners do work. I knew I should of. Should of. 1.3 love i want you so bad

Are you sure you have downloaded the correct patch for your version?
 
I think we are haveing a language problem.

Who is the publisher of your game? Koch/UbI/SF ?

oh I have found my solution thank you. I jjust restored windows2000 to a month before when all was kosher blessed :) before the heathen Sr.Leftovercrack mistook hearts of iron for a bad thing. works! Im blastin those ruskies back to moscow now! :D

Tho for all you out thar who has problems with this. Hang in there :). If u can reinstall your game and dont clean out your registry. evar!
