Problem with 1.05 installation

I have a problem when installing patch 1.05
It claims it can't find the EU2 directory, so installation is terminated.
I'm using a copy of EU2 from New Era, and my patch is for the UK update.
Can anyone help? According to my EU2, the latest patch I have there is 1.04

New Era - who are they?

Who is the publisher on the box?
 
Typhoon Games and Paradox Entertainment are the 2 logos printed on the box. New Era is the distributor for my country where I bought the game (Singapore).
The patch claims that it can't locate the EU2 files, and says that I need to install EU2 first before patching.:rolleyes:
The patch is the 1.05 UK update, downloaded from this site.
 
I have another problem not related to patching, but I might as well slot it here.
My EU2, current version tends to *crash* straight to the desktop when I try to load a game when I'm in the middle of one.
I wasn't trying out the save game kink where I can take control of another nation, yadayadayda, but just trying to go back to an earlier phase of the game I was currently playing. (Like what we do after clicking the DP sliders the wrong way, or accidently accepting a very bad peace treaty. :p )
Is this problem normal? I never installed any EEPs or such.

The Ubisoft(UK) patch will NOT work with your copy.
You need to contact New Era (whoever they are) or Typhoon Games to find out if they are doing a patch.:)
 
So that means if I want a patch, I need to get it specfically from Typhoon Games? New Era's just a distributor.
So that implies Paradox (or whoever else) gives a master copy of EU2 to Typhoon Games, who pays for it, starts printing legitimate copies of EU2 for sale... but Typhoon Games somehow isn't connected to patches and stuffs?
 
Well if it's a localised language then that's right. The distributor is responsible for issuing the patches. Paradox issue a vanilla patch and then the distributors do the copy protection, adverts and translation.

Sometimes you can use another countries patch (Oz can use a US 1.05 so you might try the 1.05 SF version) but not often. I presume your patch is in English so SF version would be my next try

the link to Typhoon Games can be found in the sticky thread "Support Options".

From the press release, it has been said that Typhoon Games made "extensive localization" to the product so you'll really need their patch.
 
So was the 1.05 patch for the Typhoon Games 'version' ever located?
The Typhoon site has a support page and here they list two 1.04 patch downloads, one which will "only work with Strategy First - North American edition", and another that will "only work with Vision Park - Scandinavian edition".
While that's all very generous of Typhoon Games, I thought it might be slightly more useful to list patches for the 'Typhoon Games version" that I suspect most visitors to their site would be looking for....

Anyways, does anyone know if there is a Typhoon Games 1.05 patch lying around somewhere just begging to be downloaded.

Muchly appreciated...
 
I don't know what to do, except telling you to e-mail the publisher. I already asked Patric, but a little intervention by their customers might not hurt.
 
Hi,
I have been playing 1.04 version, and I just tried to download the new 1.05 NA patch. I uninstalled the game first, then re-installed it, and downloaded the 1.05 patch. I tried to move the 1.05 patch to the strategy first and EU2 folder, but the game continues to run under 1.0. What folder do I need to transfer the patch to in order to run version 1.05.

Please advise
 
AFAIK, you only need to double-click on the file so the installation starts.

I received this email from Typhoon Games a couple of days ago (after some serious spamming):

We're currently making the patch and will have it through to you shortly, we will contact them on the availability. We are sorry for the trouble caused.

No timeline given, but at least (for their sake) they've placated me for a week or two. :)
 
Update!

Received the 1.05 patch from the lads at Typhoon Games last week. Not sure if it's been released as such as I couldn't find a link on their website.

Unfortunately I cannot tell you how well it functions since I've been snowed under with work commitments. Hopefully this weekend...
