Problems with Multiplayer Puppet

here is the situation.

Canada is at war with the Axis.
Italy controls most of canada, all victory points besides winnipeg and vancouver.
Canada is also at war with Japan.

when the german (human) or italian (human) offer canada (human) a peace treaty with puppet status the game crashes.

does anyone know why this situation is occuring? are human players just not allowed to be puppetted? is it because it is cross factions?

Sorry Sable, its not possible for human players to become puppets.

The computer can not demand you be a puppet, although it can offer it to you; you can start up a save game as a puppet to (if the country you chose was a puppet), but then you get screwy events and stuff that shouldn't happen.
