I've got a couple questions about the game that I hope someone here might have answers to:

1) I heard that the preorder bonus is a Stellaris Dome Pack. Are there any pics online of what that looks like?

2) I was watching one of the youtube videos with Suzie & Nikki. I noticed that a nearby cliff began casting a large shadow on a group of solar panels nearby. Do shadows cast on solar panels temporarily reduce/stop solar generation?

3) If you start a new game with a high difficulty level, do you earn special perks/unlockables if you play well?

4) Is there online co-op where two or more people can build on the same map? Or maybe an online versus mode where you are competing with someone to build the best colony while fighting for resources on the shared map?

5) I heard on another youtube that there will be mods for the game. Is that for the PC version only or will those mods be available for the console versions as well?

6) I have plans to buy the console version but my eyesight is not the greatest. Since my tv is about 14-15' away from my couch, I was wondering if there is an option to increase the font size?

7) Does the game have an "ending to it" or do you just start a new game when you fill up the map with your colony?

PS: Need five more invites to get all the unlockables. Here's my share link:

This is all based on what I remember from the stream, so don't quote me.

1) I think we find out on the 13th when pre-orders open.

4) The closest thing to multiplayer is sharing map coordinates so that people get the same map. The games would be completely separate though.

7) Presumably no hard ending though I think the mysteries and tech tree provide the usual soft Paradox cap (yes, I know they have hard end dates but how often do people play all the way through?).

I did not have as many answers for you as I thought I would.

Answering what I can at this point:

2. Currently Solar Panels are dependent on day/night cycle and weather factors such as dust storms, but not on shadows caused by terrain.

3. No, the high difficulty doesn't unlock special perks.

4. No multiplayer (on the same map or otherwise), but you can share the map coordinates so you play separate games with the same starting conditions.

5. More info on mods will be coming soon.

6. We have an UI Scale option that could be useful for you.

7. The game doesn't have a definite ending, you can play on the same map for as long as you like.

One more quick question:

I just unlocked the last Trailblazer skin & I was curious what the process was for unlocking these in the game? FYI: I'm going to be buying the PS4 version of the game.

I'm actually playing with a solar panel mod that a colleague made, that does indeed reduce power production when the panel is in the shade. It's a fun little mod that will probably be included as an example in our modding tools.

I will have to revise the answer to question 6. Due to platform requirements the UI Scale option is not available on consoles, so there is no option to increase the font size. We are using fairly large font size by default, so I hope that the default would work well for your setup.

When you place a concrete extractor, does it also mine the material directly below the extractor as well? Or does it only mine the area that the roller goes over?

Also, instead of salvaging the concrete extractor after mining a section of a large cement deposit and moving it over, could you just place the extractor in the center of the deposit and rotate it to an unprocessed section?

I noticed that Gamestop's preorders for the XBox & PS4 versions have the release date 03/08/18. Why are they being launched earlier than the digital preorders?
I find it cute that anybody thinks gamestop does anything competently and that they can rely on gamestop for accurate information about anything.

Are the resources on the map fixed, or procedural generated? In other words, if I play on the same co-ordinates twice, will the resource placement be exactly the same, roughly similar, or completely random?

In Surviving Mars you can pick a landing spot (map) via a planetary UI by picking a specific spot on Mars. Each landing spot on Mars is procedurally generated based on different parameters like elevation, resource density, etc. to generate a unique map with different geography and resource positions. When playing on the same landing spot (coordinates) on Mars you will have the same map both in term of geography and resources. You can even share coordinates with your friends and try different starts on the same map.

Has the game gone gold yet or are you still hunting for bugs/glitches?

The release build has been ready for some time now. We're focusing on post release plans now and eagerly awaiting release day.

I know this probably seems out of the norm, but will there be the option to get a completely randomized map with set difficulties (resource amounts, disasters, elevation)? I see the "Custom" button - I'm hoping that's what I'm looking for. I just don't necessarily want to play the same map with the same resources over and over once I find the right challenge. Part of the fun for me is not knowing where everything is located.

EDIT: And, if that's indeed what the custom button is, will the "seed" be available to be shared?
