In this patch 4.0.21 is it possible for me to assemble both organic pops and robot pops at the same time?

I would like to build a robot assembly and a cloning center in the same planets.

One to assemble organic pops and the other to assemble more bots

Or do they conflict with each other?

It looks like robots get the cloning bonus too but other than that thanks for letting me know
Are you saying that it's currently bugged where robots (machines too?) get a grown bonus from cloning vats and the like?

Hmm, speaking of which, do the assembly traits like budding also get spread out like regular growth? Hopefully that's not happening.

Yes. The tool even says it quite clearly.

Also at the same time the tooltip doesnt show the growth penalty from growth required scaling game setting unless the pop has an assembled bonus

But the scale is still applied even if it doeant show it

Organic pops do not receive any growth from robot assembly, nor do robots receive any growth from clone vats. The tooltips are just wonky.

Edit: Nope, did a test, and it's not just the tooltip. Planet with no organics (just robots), no robot assembly plant, and a clone vat grows an extra ~1.5ish robots per month.

Budding, similarly, only gets distributed to the pop groups that are compatible (i.e. other Budding species). But since every pop group makes assembly in proportion to its size, and also receives assembly in proportion to its size, it ends up getting the same as what it makes (though the tooltip is almost unreadable because of the fragmentation).

Edit: Budding also had a regression in recent patches; there was a partial fix to the tooltip madness (ex. 10 pop groups all making their own Budding, which then made 10 Budding entries in every tooltip), but the division step is still there.

So why does the tool tip for robots specifically mention bonus from clone vats?

I have both robot assembly plants and clone vats at the same time in my planets.

You are correct, it's not just the tooltip. Definitely a bug.

Budding's distribution works correctly, though (not going to robots, or non-budding organics).

But its numbers seem bugged too: from what I can tell, only the largest pop group on the planet makes Budding assembly, and then it's distributed proportionally to all other pop groups.

Are the devs aware of it?

Its a bit messy right tbh. Both tooltips and the actual bonus distributions are wrong then

No idea.

It's a regression: in past 4.0 versions the Budding tooltip was a mess because each pop made its own Budding which got divided between everything, so you'd get e.g. 10 "Budding" entries in the tooltip if you had 10 pop groups. But at least the totals were correct...

Ah, found the problem. Pops make Budding for their own group exclusively, but it's still being divided by their proportion of the Budding population (as it were coming from a shared pool). So that's the regression: the tooltip madness got fixed, but the division step got left in.

Aka, partial fix.

Unfortunately, this is actually even more punishing than only the largest group contributing.

Look, we had to take some shortcuts! There were limited supplies so we made do. Just don't ask how the robots are made!
