I haven't played in a while, and since I have the game with manual installers (thus no forced updates), I'm playing on the version that released with the green planet DLC. I have no desire for the B&B DLC or the Train DLC at present, being content with the game as it was when Green Planet was new.

My question is would I gain any benefit from updating to the latest version, or just cause myself heartache? Is the current version of base game stable or are there numerous bugs? I seem to see lots of complaints, but they do seem to be in reference to B&B for the most part.

FYI, I have the mods I had back then, and don't really need any more for now. Game works great as is, and I don't want to risk breaking it by updating uninformed.

So I guess I'm asking for some educated guidance on the issue.

AFAIK the remaining bugs all relate to B&B, so you should be fine. And I like many of the changes, the tourism update is a big improvement IMO, the amphitheater is very helpful (bordering on OP even) and I like the fungal farm buff.

If you're on PC, I would also at least recommend ChoGGi's "Fix Bugs" mod, it fixes bugs left over from first vanilla versions, like polymer and electronic shops consuming way too many resources.
