I was kinda wondering a bit about the savegame converter to EU2 format:

Wouldn't it require a patch for EU2 with more countries? If I, say, was Leon and avoided to be incorporated into Castile - how would that be handled? Would the converter just change the tag to CAS in EU2, or will they in fact include a lot of new countries for EU2? If so, that feature alone will be worth buying CK for!;)

I don't think this feature will be implemented. It simply won't work for a variety of reasons.

What I was also wondering - what happens to all the leader files? If, e.g. a country has a diferent king than it should at the time you convert to EU2, will this be reflected? What if you have countries that weren't historically present in 1419, will they get any leaders/monarchs?

this would be a little complicated wouldn't it? I hope they don't delay the game too much working on this.:(

Oh that would be sweet...:D

However, it doesn't solve the issue. Paradox has for a long time advertised with CK having this feature. And surely, they wouldn't do that if it was impossible?:confused:
Really, they must have thought about having to add extra countries, monarchs and leaders. If they thought they could merely copy the save into EU2, they would have to be more naive than they seem...;) :D

Sergei said in another thread that they had a very good plan on how to do this, and that it wouldn't be a problem, so no need to worry.

Really? Okay, thanx. Did he give any details?

Chaps, this is really the first public pleading to cut out a feature, congratulations!

This is how it is going to happen:

1) we finish GM of CK first;

2) then we take CK save file and EUII save file and write a conversion algorythm that doesn't get your CK camels through the EU2 needle but rather ctakes CK save and creates a -similar-, not identical EUII save.

This won't get your monarchs from CK to live in EUII, neither will it reflect the borders too exactly since provinces differ. What it will do however is it will provide you with an -analogue-, approximation, -what if- situation in the gameplay terms of EUII.

This is very much feasible technically and I don't see any delays caused by that. Since we will start working on it only after we GM CK, it won't hurt CK either.

However a dominating opinion among the team here is, "Why after playing a game that is beautiful and smart and advanced in all senses would anybody in his/her proper mind want to play a grandfather like EUII?"

I guess that is as close as you can get to a "yes, it will be included"! :)
