Any suggestions on how to use the drone Rover? I bought one yesterday thinking i could use it as a mobile mineral collector but that did not work. I had it on site where was constructing but realised could just as well transfer the drones to the hubs.

  • build scanners on remote places
  • Setting up a depot and mine surface materials out of dronehubs zones
  • Constructing totally new zones
  • spoiler, spoiler - useful in mysteries

In addition with the flying drones, you only need the rover and an universal depot to start a construction anywhere. And off course it is one of the better way to extract concrete without too many wire.

I didn't know you could extract concrete with just the Rover? How do you do that?

Also to OP: Useful for setting up remote Water mining sites (pipes, wires + extractor) while you wait for the maintenance drone hubs to be set up (if you're short on electronics, like I am).

Nice so it is best used in combination with the shuttle hubs? Messed up a game yesterday when building my third dome on remote location. Landed a rocket to start constructing. But forgot about refulling so had to use the transporter to bring fuel. But then it was hit by a dust devil or something and in need of maintaince. With shuttle hubs and Rovers would never have needed to land the rocket on location.

You have to construct buildings but you only need the rover to operate it and start the constructions. Go to the zones place an universal depot, and build the extractors, concrete depot, turbins... The flying drones will move all you need to the zone. The rover wait until the extractors are depleted. You destroy everything and move to anothe place. You don't need to construct drones hub or link the extractors to the main power base. If you want to speed things, you can use the transport rover to get the concrete back quicker.

Thanks, that makes sense!

You can also use your RC Rover to repair the transporter, or anything out of reach of your hub.
Transporter+RC Rover is the obvious combination before shuttle hub is available, but it needs lot of micro management.

For ressource collection, you got the Transport.

The rover can be used to set up new areas you don't have a line of drone hubs to, you can move them to areas where there is heavy building ongoing (i.e. new dome) and of course you need rovers to recover other rovers that went malf outside of hub ranges.
