Red Alert scenarios sounds somewhat interesting to me.

Tiberian Dawn would be interesting too, with GDI and NOD. (Well, it would be just 2 "nations"/factions, but wanyways.)

There's enough info about the C&C world to rebuild it in AOD/DH. Could be quite interesting. ;)

If we do so, we might going to have some issues with the copyrights. :)

We won't, as the mod won't be a commercial product. :) There are plenty mod based on books/films/etc., many of them using artwork, but PI never complained.

I'd liek to have a RA-like scenario, but not one actually featuring Westwood's C&C universion. Just a scenario were the USSR is the bad guy who tries to take of Europe (and maybe Asia?).

Red Alert became more and more stupid and childish through the series.
So please, no japanese mechas, polar bears or psychic school girls.
Go with the original! To hell with Red Alert 3!

I second that. A Red Alert 1 scenario, with Soviet Union leading a massive invasion of Europe in a Hitler-free universe would be awesome. It could even use OTL ministers, OOBs, leaders and so on - with changes mostly restricted to Germany. I guess there would even be a possibility to model things like Tesla technology or Chronosphere - by new secret techs (like unlocking a new brigade type or another tier of SH tank), or the decisions system. Something like "Use the Chronosphere" decision that would spawn a small squad in a selected Soviet province...

Red Alert 1 is definitely the most realistic too. and since it takes place around the same time as ww2 it would probably be easy to make.

i've never played red alert 3, and i really have no desire to. it looks super weird.

and i also like the idea of C&C 1.

Yea, Red Alert 1 would be the best to model it on. Gotta love the cut scenes, Stalin strangling the general personally, and how the poisoned general on the table blinks even though he is dead

I'd combine RA1 timeline with RA2 weaponary. Things like Tesla Troopers, Apocalypse Tanks, Kirov Airships and so on are just too cool to be dropped.

The Shock Troopers (Tesla Troopers with a different name) were added in Aftermath, and the Apocalypse Tank was just a re-named Mammoth Tank. Besides, the more wierd tech there is, the harder it would be to model them.

I'm not sure that we actually do know that much about the Red Alert universe - most of the maps you saw in-game had prima facie incorrect borders ripped from then-modern world maps. And some of the in-game things, like the USS Arizona memorial at Pearl Harbor in RA2, directly clashed with the timeline. Hell, do we even know what year it started in?

Not saying they weren't great games - they were some of my favorites - but I imagine a lot of the mod development time will be spent filling in holes.

Actually... there is nothing as such hindering a Japanese-American War starting with an attack on Pearl Harbour from having occured.
As for the second question, no, but 'sometime in the late 40s' seems a reasonable guess - it does appear to be later than the WW2 we knew, but not so late that 1952 had been reached when the War ended.

RA1 started around 1945 as Russia moved to take Eastern Europe but "forgot" to stop. RA2 was around 1960-70. RA3 is around ~2010

... I am sorry, but while the timing works, the explanation for RA1 is hilariously odd: the intro is about Hitler being removed to stop World War 2, the manual talks about it, indeed, averting that war, and the leader of the Good Guys is a German. The Soviets don't need to forget to stop: if they move in on a broad front across Eastern Europe, that is a hefty indication of hostility to the West, right there.

RA1 is about West Europe vs URSS. We know very little about the rest of the world. USA seems like to help Allies (they send Tanya) but Soviets don't have a USA invading campaign. Soviet ending should start Tiberian Dawn? How could Kane be so lame to don't win against USA if he start with Russia and whole Europe? Maybe Kane was just a joke because they planned only one title of Red Alert.

I don't think it would be around 1945 as in the later campaign the Russians get MiG's along with their standard insult of Yak aircraft. I believe RA 1 would be around the 1970's or 60's. Of course they could be referencing the MiG -9 "Fargo" but meh.
