I had to format my HD and reinstall everything on it recently. When I tried to start HoI2, there seems to be a new screen resolution, and the text in the game is difficult to read. How do I manually change to a better resolution for this game? What resolution is best for this game?
Usually it's in the manual that came with your monitor.
A second trick (provided you have a fairly recent video board) is to enter your display option in Windows (right click anywhere on the desktop, except on any icons), tab page "settings", and see what the max resolution is you can select. That will be the native resolution of your LCD monitor.
Oh no, you must be kidding ?! I just got my new Dell 30" TFT with 2560x1600 native. That's really to bad. playing in 1024 - 2/3 of the screen is just black, stretching looks even worse :wacko:
I guess doomsday won't improve that, right ? *sigh*
There exists now a user made hack that allows that and allows play in a window and different resolutions. Of course use at your own risk it is not supported by Paradox.

I don't know if it's the same hack that I used, but if it is you can try to set wour screen settings to 16bit from 32. The hack crashes in 32, but for me 16 works fine!
