Is there a way to convert light cavalry to something more useful like heavy cavalry/infantry? Every purchase option gives you 150 light cavalry along with either 150 pikemen/light or heavy infantry or 50 cavalry. So you end up with an Army with over half the army is light cavalry. I think a historically accurate ratio of a wealthy king's army would be... 60% infantry/pike, 20% archers, 20% Cavalry

Isnt cavalry only useful in the chasing phase of battle?? Wouldn't infantry make much more sense??

hmmm, I usually play as Spain... I started as Visigoth and now Castilian. Is there a way to edit these in game or do you need to mod game files?
you would need to mod the 00_retinue_subunits.txt file.

It's in CK2Plus/common/retinue_subunits

The entries you would want are those for culture_group = iberian
