Just wondering, how come so many bugs turn up in the release version when a full fledged beta test has been going on for many months?
I can hardly imagine that the last beta version was that much different from the release version?

greetings, Oranje

Without any actual knowhow on this I might suggest that the important word here is stress test... Something which is fairly difficult to simulate on a program. Not to mention the fact that the HW immensely diversified when the game suddenly spread to machine combinations that noone had tested the game on ?
Not to mention all those 'annoying' new players do all sorts of things that the betatesters never tried or thought off :)

If you are not part of the solution you are part of the precipitate.

Bold move, Oranje! :) To help spreading the wrath of Johan and the betas equally among us, so that You and Cobos will not have to suffer it all alone ;), I join this thread.

Additionally to what Cobos said:
a) some bugs are due to the German version alone, which seemingly was not tested extensively before.
b) Last minute changes to the game are likely to introduce new bugs, which were not there in the beta.

As it is, we are now in a way 'joining' the beta team :b. But I don´t mind, as long as Johan does such a great job in taking seriously all the complaints and delivering patches as soon as possible, it´s fine with me. :)

Because it's a very complex game Oranje. There's tons of factors to consider. Trust me on this Oranje, the betatest was very thorough and deep. Unfortunatelly there's no guarrantee you'll avoid bugs.

I'm confident Paradox will continue to make this better and better.
