All,

I'm finally breaking down and buying a new router, as much as the idea of trying to set it up again frightens me. I feel I have both the courage and moral will to conquer my anxieties and brave the terrible intricacies of wireless networking.

That, and when I ripped it out of the wall last night I apparently broke the little input slot.

So my question is, those who use routers (wireless), what kind of routers do you use? How do they work with EU II? Is the firewall easy to configure around the ports or does it have to be shut down? And how complicated is it?

Remember, I'm basically a monkey that can type. So the easier the better.

Netgear's routers are easy to configure (at least mine was)

You only need to configure which ports the router have to be forwarded. You can look at www.portforward.com to see which routers seems easy and which can forward ports actually. Some are just "unable" to forward them (Instead opf typing range of ports to be forwarded, you need to give a permission for each port. which is a pain when the router only allow 6 entry).

Speedtouch are quite good. But I dunno if they are in the states or not. IIRC they have a range of different routers you can buy. Also there are instructions on the board (in the HOI MP forum) how to configure Speedtouch routers.

Balinus,

You beautiful bastard.

I went to that site on a whim, got my network cable jury rigged and gave port forwarding one last try. Static IP address-and apparently Virtual Server is Belkin's version of it. And you enter the same ports at both ends.

Two fucking years I've been trying to do this. Any time we play a game together, I'll let you diplo-annex me.

Hahahaha, this is just too beautiful for words!
