Running in Windowed mode, but kind of messy...

I'm running VISTA home premium (32bit) and can get the game to run in windowed mode. The problem is that the Google (I think it's Google?) stuff along the right side of the screen (clock, calendar, home pictures, etc.) refreshes a hundred times a second, so the game gets all wierd, only partially showing up in the window, etc. I have no idea if it will crash or not, but it seems likely, plus it's just irritating. Also, the Dell stuff across the top of the screen (haven't got around to getting rid of that yet...) appears to interfere also. I tried moving the window over this stuff and that just makes the stuff hose up the HoI window.

This all started because I wanted to run iTunes in the background, and be able to occasionally mess with the iTunes without completely shutting the game down to do it.

Any suggestions?

A simpler hassle-free solution

Sorry no, but in future if you want to access iTunes in full screen mode without shutting down the game, just press the 'start' button on the keyboard, this will take you to the desktop to access iTunes with the game running but minimized so just press the 'hoi2' button on the taskbar and the game will be just how you left it.
