Save game disappeared

This morning i played eu4 and saved the game but now its gone.
I had a few more saved games but I deleted them. The deleted games were also in the same location as this one (picture 2) and they were listed )picture 1) and i could play them.
I tried to open it directly via "Open with" the eu4.exe but it did not work. I just opened eu4 this way.
Is it somehow possible to play this saved game?

I don't know what could cause that. If you rename those files to something sensible can the game then see them? They should end in .eu4

Didn't work. I don't know if one of this could cause this problem but 1. There was an Update for the launcher while i was playing and 2. I activated the option to save in Cloud but I got this game on Epic Games and have no idea where else it could be saved, but even then it should be displayed in game? Edit: Available Space in Cloud is 400MB of 400MB.
Since the file didn't appear Ingame and there where no visible difference to the files which did appear could it be that the file is somehow corrupted? If so is it possible to fix it?

A launcher update cannot affect the names or contents of saved game files. Indeed it's hard to see how you could get a Paradox launcher update while playing, as the launcher is unloaded when the game starts!

So far as I know, there is no visibility into the Epic cloud storage, but you could ask them about that.

In general uncorrupting any computer file is like unscrambling an egg (ie impossible), but I suppose it is possible those files only have a minor glitch that some judicious editing could conceivably fix. The good folks over in User Mods probably have the most experience in editing save game files.

Did you really name your save game "."? Does it help if you make a copy of the file and give it a name which just consists of a few normal letters?
If you upload your save here, I can have a look at the file to see if it is corrupted or not.
You could also try to start a new campaign and save it with a unique name to see if it really ends up in that folder or if eu4 is using a different folder now for some reason.
