So I was playing a game today wherein my Count of Kervana became the Prince of Kervana, and was told thereafter by the Emperor of Byzantium to get the troops ready. I did so, and noticed that my monthly income went down a ton (around -10 a month), but my total income never went below zero. This baffled, but pleased me, until I reloaded the game from a save and noticed that I was going into the negatives every month. I saw in a FAQ thread from 2004 that saving and reloading is necessary after your primary title changes. Is this still the case, or am I encountering a different bug?

That's still the case, you need to save/reload whenever your primary title changes because the game treats you as a NPC until you do so. And that question is asked every month, so congratulations -- March of 2010 was your turn to ask. ;)
