After reading all the threads and trying everthing out there. Ive come to and end. The game i have is the version that comes with Crown of the North. My system is a P3 800mhz, 384 ram, Soundblaster Live, Geforce2 mx , XP pro, and all the latest drivers patches including the betas. My problem happens only when i scroll over the white unexplored areas of the map. The game will crash to desktop or freeze with the sound screeching. have not heard or read this problem.

Yes my directx and xp are up to date, the game works fine. Tried different senarios and different countries.
Sorry the game still does the same thing. Same crashes. Last thread was a little confusing.
We do not officially support CotN version of EU2, for that you should go to SF support.
However I can offer you a few things to try.
1) Make sure you have set color depth to 16BIT.
2) Rename your AVI folder to AVI_back.
3) Try diferent resolutions.
4) Update your Sound drivers.
5) Run DXdiagnostic.
6) Set font size to "normal"
7) Disable any programs running in the background, Like Virus protection, or Instant messanger, things like that. Basically have nothing in your system tray, or minimized.
8) Reinstall and do not install any mods, see if it happens with the clean install and no patches.

Try that one to. How about anything in the registry. I had Eu I on at one time. Maybe theres some conflict.
Well you could clean the registy if any entries for EU1 are still there.
But I doubt It is a problem.
