There are 3 search sets in the "search character" dialog: all, realm, vassals.
I tried to find all non-christian vassals so I could demand a conversion. However the search also finds sub vassals, i.e. vassals I do not have access to because I am not their direct liege.
This is a bit counter-intuitive, since the term "vassal" exists as tooltip on a character's portrait, and only direct vassals yield the "Your vassal" tooltip.
I'm not sure whether this is intended or not. I do however assume that when a player wants to search for specific vassals, he wants to interact with them in some sort. For non-direct vassals however, the possible interactions are almost the same as for non-realm vassals, i.e. much fewer than for direct vassals.
