We have been facing an issue the entire day. We are working on it. We will keep you updated as soon as the servers are back.
We are deeply sorry for the inconvenience.
 
Might be helpful to have a pop up expaining the situation appear on the loading screen if this happens again. Would save people from starting to look for faults on their own pc's, when the problem is with the servers.
 
Server still down more than 24 hours, wow that´s game Support. I can´t remember back that far that any other game was longer than 24 hours down. By the way the same Counts for Wargame as well, might be the same Server.
 
Today is a public holiday in my country and in France(Assumption Day) and i guess no one is at the office until tommorrow to fix it.

Call me paranoya or too much buksna but if you look at the 2,3 server downs in the last months and when it happened i start to belive its some attack on Eugen servers aka ddos or who knows what.It already happened in W:RD so thats where the "fear" comes from.

If i am not wrong,every time the servers went down was weekends,when no one is in the office.Yesterday it went down,how great Tuesday is also a not working day,i dont think it happened without purpose :(.

As Drrty-D explained, today is a public holiday in France. This issue we are facing with the servers could not be solved only by pushing the restart button but it requires an intervention. Due to this public holiday, it is difficult to get this done by our online services provider.
We are doing the best we can to get the servers back.
 
Sorry but for an international Company with selling a product global on planet earth there is a 24 hours seven days Service for SHURE, so Country Holidays do not Count ! You can´t let Players who payed for your product more than 24 hours without the abillity of multiplayer, this is insane and not worth buying any products again from Eugene !
 
A rather poor show of customer service and dedication to the player base, I think there's no denying in that.

Are you kidding me? This is the second time this has happened. This is not acceptable in the slightest and you being an apologist for this sort of incompetence is ridiculous. Having "shit happen" is a couple hours, not a couple days. This is coming from a diehard fanboy of this game and company.

no, i just don't know what the issue is they are facing and i've got nothing else to do but wait until it is fixed. they will have their reasons. sure, they should communicate more but this won't help if they are dependent on someone else (maybe outside their company) to fix this problem. no need to yell at anybody

and by the way: you were already raging this morning and that was "a couple of hours" .. damn internet people ...

Are you trying to make yourself look stupid on purpose? This has been happening for over 24 hours and I haven't said anything since about 26 hours in.
 
I've been a developer for over 20 years now and understand the technical aspects of what's happened; maybe a little deeper than non-devs. I do understand Eugen and although I'm not happy about it, I'll be patient. Having said that, using country holiday as an excuse would be a fireable offense in most of my previous positions. In the US, part of the job as devs, we must ensure uptime, even if it means working nights and holidays. That's one of the reasons we get paid well. It doesn't mean that we can't take days off to compensate, but there's an expectation of not impacting paying customers' work or playtime. If I was senior at Eugen, realizing the potential damage these interruptions cause, I would take a hard look at what happened, explain it to the communite together with an assurance of why it won't happen again. Communication, however painful it may feel to the dev team, is much more appreciated by customers than silence and no explanation. In my experience, silence usually means sub-par technical ability. Hope it'll be fixed soon.
 
Is it not a custom in France to ask for volunteers to work on holidays for double pay? You know, in case of emergencies exactly like this? Or do the labor laws make it illegal to work on a holiday? I'm trying to understand. Even Walmart pays you double time for working on Thanksgiving.
 
Well my understanding of what's gone wrong is that it isn't a problem that can be solved at Eugen's end, and is tied up with whoever actually provides them with server services, that said if I was sitting in Eugen's shoes and my server service provider takes a shit and doesn't clean it up PDQ i would be actively looking to replace them with ones which can and do sort out these problems irrespective of whether its a public holiday or not.

This is the sort of problem which puts people off playing your games (often in a rather permanent fashion) and has unfortunately been happening more frequently than it should be of late.
