Well, it's seems impossible to me that nobody did it before, but
I've been trying to set back date of my save file (IGC as Prussia), and was frustrated with many errors then, when something came to my mind >and what if i change starting date to, for example, 1453? will it work?< so, besides trying to fix erros in my savefile, i've changed starting date of another file, hands-off as Japan, saved in 1.1.1492. I've changed it to 1490, and it worked!!! well, i've checked first half a year, so this may be only a first impression, but imagine it is possible. An GC starting in let's say about 1380, 100 hundred years war still around, byzantine empire alive, Teutonic order not yet defeated, no united P-L, and so on (not to mention poor Granada :)
Any comments :)?

doesn't seem to work : i've changed 1497 to 1450 ina saved game and load it : the 2nd day, the year was changed in 1492, so....

Well, it didn't worked that
but at least i've seen true power of italian merchants
those two cots counting
venice, about 2500 ducats, almost entire eurasia
genoa, 1000 americas plus westernmost europe
and i must add that i cut prices in my goods.csv
that things are obviously hardcoded
oh yes, year was 1002 :)
but next day it was 1492
time travel, wormhole or else :(

There is a util by a german guy (if you know some german, check out the german language thread) that supposedly sets time back without any errors induced.

I have begged for anyone fluent in both English and German to do a translation of the documentation (my own German is just about enough for me to be able to figure out what people writeing, but definitly not for translating stuff for oothers to read).

Sofar, however, noone has bothered with it =(.
