Ships surrendering causing crash to desktop

Just started a new free campaign yesterday playing Dutch on hard setting, using version 1.06(not designers cut). I first got the crash when the marines shot the crew down to nothing and the ships name would turn the surrender white, but without a 'ship has surrendered' message. I also noticed the marines were continuing to shoot the crew of the surrendered ships.

Thinking the marines continuing to kill the crew might be the problem, I took them off the ships. It seemed to be a workaround at first, but then I began getting increasing crashes regardless of how I forced the surrenders. Now, my last two battles just crashed to desktop when I surrendered one of my own ships.

This is probably my 5th campaign and I have never encountered this before. The only thing I'm doing differently is I have campaign difficulty set to hard and playing as Dutch. It is also my first campaign since installing the Privateer and Trafalgar expansions, so I'm wondering if it could be related those installs?

It seems it was likely caused by the Trafalgar expansion. I tried quick battles in the base game, pirate bay and privateer, and they all crashed as soon as I hit the surrender button. But I was still able to surrender the ships in Trafalgar.

It still did it after I uninstalled Trafalgar, so I ended up uninstalling everything and reinstalling up through 1.06 and it's working correctly again. Haven't reinstalled any of the expansions yet.

thanks for the information and sorry that you've had this problem. We looked into it and here's an instant workaround for it to get you playing:

1) Go to EIC installation folder
2) Go to "Data\Models\Flags\" and delete "flags_white.s3d.bin"

At this point EIC and other addons should work okay. However, to prevent this from happening again, do the next steps:

3) copy Flags_White.s3d from "Data\Models\Flags\" to "Mods\Trafalgar\Data\Models\Flags\"
4) copy pFLAG_white.dhp from "Data\Parts\Solids\Flags\" to "Mods\Trafalgar\Data\Parts\Solids\Flags\"
5) edit the file that you just copied (Mods\Trafalgar\Data\Parts\Solids\Flags\pFlag_white.dhp) to look like this:
