Hi,

Have a look at the 2 attacked screenshots. It's the exact same moment in time, but one with a mod called "Empire and Border Overhaul".

Which one is easier to understand?
Which one is more graphically appealing?

The vanilla colors make most empires dark and only a border is colored. It is such a poor graphic experience, it makes it hard to tell where the borders are, and who is part of which group.

With a simple change the colors of the mod could become the standard in the game and it'll be a better experience for all, especially new players who don't even know about modding.

Reactions:
Empires shouldn't be able to generate with the same map color as another unless all other colors are used.

Empire should also use their primary color as their map color and their secondary as their border color. You see this with the UNE: the UNE's map color shows as black because its secondary color is black despite the UNE having an entirely blue flag.

Also, borders are a touch too thick. Even a slight reduction in border color is way more aesthetically pleasing.

Exactly! the empire map color should be the primary color not secondary color. Who thought that it was a ''smart'' idea to make the map color based on secondary? and why wasn't that idea challenged and killed? :D

Anyway, this is a very simple change that doesn't require much coding and resources. I bet it can be done in minutes!
