This is the Neutral Zone, where we are in Diplo with the Modrons.

Check out the stack of Creuse and Jemappes class freighters.

They HAVE to be freighters, right? Civilian engine, 36,000 tons displacement, 2200 kps.

Can we build ordinance factories in Woodstock? Get Wagonlitz favorite people working?

It's good to do it in this order. If you build up basic industries without the mineral income you run out fast.

I'd say start with construction factories first, they build all of the other industries.

All headed for Harmony? Interesting. Did we just get a trade treaty and the game forgot to mention it to us?

How many ground troops do we build each day? We're going to need more of those GU construction facilities too if those Børk turn hostile.

At our end (the Diplo points visible to us) we're not quite half-way to a trade deal.

Can't see THEIR end, of course.

We would need to ship minerals in, and missiles / mines out. Some day, though, yes.

Earth can only hold a certain number of people, after which we will HAVE to decentralize.

Three months to build an STO unit (typically two or three turrets). A week for a Space Marine Battalion. Maybe seven weeks for a Brigade. Garrisons are quick.

I have in fact been building Ground Forces Training Centers. We started the game with only one, and have 34 now. But we need many more, yes.

Same story for factories. We started with none (!) and built 2,379. But we need many more.

Same story in each category, except that I don't recall building fuel refineries because we got the orbital (gas giant) versions online quite early.

Here's our current construction queue. Note that each type of factory (construction, ordnance, fighter, etc) has its own queue.

@Wagonlitz

Note in the above screen-shot that 21,000 construction points per year worth of ordnance factories when divided by 365 produces 57.5 points per day, and since each Petard mine costs 17.5 points, that works out to 3.3 mines constructed each day.

Does anyone want to see the list of what we have on Earth, in terms of installations (factories, training centers, tracking stations, etc)?

Yup... they're on the way to Harmony.

Actually, I would.

Diplo 97.6 with the Modrons.

The Bork are still avoiding Diplo contact, so no update there.

That is in fact GOOD news because without contact the Diplo number gradually settles toward zero, regardless of whether it starts as positive or negative.

So our highly Xenophobic Bork neighbors are (presumably) starting in the negative and creeping toward zero Diplo despite themselves.

We've identified quite a few Modron ships.

The Creuses and Jemappes are freighters. Perhaps there are other civvie designs as well.

He's still neutral. Presumably a scout.

Good luck attacking that planet (in AX Microscopii), buddy... I've dumped eight sets of STO on Bugeyes. EIGHT. Two to four turrets each.

The jump point to The Radiant is circled in red in the top left corner. Diagonally below that (also circled in red, center left) is the jump point that leads through Luyten's Star and on through Alpha Centauri to Earth. Further along the same diagonal is our Minelayer task force (Tenders loaded with Cutlasses) indicated by a red arrow, and still deeper into the inner system (again circled in red) is the jump to Ze Neuotral Zoon-a.

THAT is where we are placing the minefield.

Heading into October 2030, there are some interesting diplomatic developments.

sc-2108.jpg

Starting at the top and highlighted in yellow, the Modrons have set up a colony on an asteroid in our Harmony star system. Thermal 35 and EM 35... a stack of DSTS, maybe? That's the same trick that WE pulled.

Lower down the page, they are asking us to hand over the Harmony star system and withdraw. Yeah, like THAT'S going to happen. Bork you too, pal.

Meanwhile, we're back in communication with the Bork, and they're actually paying attention. (EDIT: "significant progress" gave us +5)

Lastly... Diplo 100.6 - let's keep an eye on it, and see what this argument over the Harmony star system is costing us.

So those two 15.000 ton Gard class vessels are in fact military designs.
Not very strong shields though, just 89 points while our Emotion line runs what, 400 points worth of shield?
EM signature of 89. Not sure how that translates into shield points.
