Slave Trade?

I'm playing IGC 1.8 as Portugal and all the slave provinces where I have TPs produce not a single ducat. Zeros across the board. I know it's an evil and pernicious trade, but I need the dues!

Do I need more than one TP? Colonists? Is the slave trade undeveloped as of 1502?

Also, why is the value "very low" (or in this case, nonexistent)when historically it was very lucrative?

Trade posts don't produce tax income. They just increase the value of their CoT. Build colonies on them for cash.

I should have been clearer. No TP produces tax income, but these TPs have zero trade value to the CoT, as well.

Slave trade only gets profitable later on, when slaves are actually becoming more and more needed for plantages and so.

Yeah, give it time. Watch the supply vs. demand percentages go up over time.
