haven't posted here in a while...
So, is this game still alive? Any news on the beta? Any screenshots perhaps?

Yes, no and no.:)

Unfortunately...:( I really look forward to this game!

Don't you just love "no" answers when it comes to Crusader Kings...the first thing I'm going to do after purchasing it will be to open a thread and repeat "yes" till I drop:D

By the time the game arrives you may be too old to type "yes" more than a couple times before you drop.:D

Well, all I can say is that my passport expired while waiting for CK.

well, if you sonny are so pessimistic on the release, i guess i'd better look elsewhere for a middle ages PC game :( and try to live with MTW
the problem is where to look...

:D LOL :D

Sure feels like a long time doesn't it? It has only been a year and a half. The biggest disappointment has been thinking that the game has been "almost ready" several times only to be told it will be "a little longer" so they can get it right.:(

We know that, but I wish we could get some more in depth information from time to time...;)

@ webbrave and the rest

Olga Solovieva has posted today a new Development update but it's in Russian now, maybe Sergei will re-post it in English CK forum tomorrow.

But for those of you who are interested in the issue, here's a link to her post:

CK Development update 02/Sep./2003 (Russian)

Cheers

See! Just what I told you. They want to get it right. ;) :)

well, from browsing snowball.ru, the english section of their forum is just as dead as the paradox one, if not more.

it is all quiet on the western front :( would it kill anyone to type another 100 words on the subject? ahh, never mind ~ it's no use

sergei is a bit of a nippophile. wonder how it works out out there in the frozen waste that is MOSKVA. i'd like to travel through siberia once. i have these romantic visions of those wide spaces. maybe if i can convince someone to go with me. one day. i could make a living teaching english, couldnt i?

but to bring this topic back on track, Urals were the easternmost edge of the map, if im not mistaken, from what we could gather.

Well, I don't want to complain, but after being bombarded by Victoria's screenshots and hints about that game, I really feel that Crusader Kings is still a mystery to me....I have saved money for Victoria, not for Crusader Kings, because I really don't know if it will be available till December...:(

Not a dig on anyone, I want to play this game as much as anyone but there comes a time when you kinda have to move on and lower your expectations. At this point when it comes out I will be happy but will be hestiant to purchase upon release only because so little info has been made available. Hopefully that will change when it goes to beta, but we are talking about a game that the developer was asked not to post updates to its official forums.

Im not a genius, cant read peoples minds, but I have enough expreince to know that something dosent seem right, and as a consumer of the game its made me aprehensive about buying it. The 2 years of development is one thing, but having a month of feedback and updates from the developer then to have that developer be asked to not post on the offical forums is troublesome and sends a bright red flag up in my mind.

Paradox makes great games and I support them with my purchase, but they arent making this game, so far snowball is, and I have no expirence with them as a gaming company save for CK. Thus far the information has been so sparse that its hard to make an educated guess as to why things are taking so long. In the end I am here because of the reputation of Paradox for making games and supporting them, but, again, Paradox isnt making this game yet so for me my expectations have lowered signifigantly and unless there is more for me to assess as a consumer, more and more I find it hard to stand by my position of purchasing upon release to give Paradox the maximum benefit of my consumption.

My 2 cents
