*my opinion pertains only to solo play
Hi,
Recently I've come back to Magicka to check out some DLCs I had yet to play. Let me say that I generally really like Magicka - the whole idea of casting spells, the humor, the new content DLCs that keep coming out every once in a while.
That being said...
1. WHO THE F*** thought the 2nd phase of Vlad in The Other Side of the Coin would be a fun experience?! That nullify SPAM was one of the most INFURIATING gaming experiences I've had in a LONG time. Yeah, spamming shields on yourself all the goddamn time while barely being able to do anything else sure is fun! Plus the endless possibilities of unlucky events like a nullify from one spirit occuring JUST before one of the others finishes their spell/attack, etc. FUN, FUN, FUN, FUN. Right? NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Oh, and *SPOILERS* when you "defeat" Vlad, he kills Alucart anyway? WTF! I've been through all this shit only to be defeated in the end regardless of what happened before?! OMFG!
2. In the Dungeons and Daemons DLC, there's an achievement called "Not what they signed up for" that involves killing 37 minions using the saws. Seriously? 37? By the time I had like 20 (btw. WHY is there no counter to see your progress?!?!?!?), I thought I had proven, more than enough, that I was able to do that stuff! It was so tiresome doing that acheivement, felt like a waste of time. You'd think 10 or 15 kills would be enough? Nooooo - THIRTY-F***ING-SEVEN - that's the sweet spot! I am not an expert in this field, but I would think that when designing achievements there would be something IN BETWEEN stuff like "Basic element" (or something of that sort) and "Not what they signed up for"!!!!! ARGHHHHHHH
3. What the hell is up with a bug(?) that makes the game not display the "defeated" message when you die? It makes the game being stuck and you have to restart the whole chapter all over again?! I was trying to finish Dungeons and Daemons on hard difficulty and by the end of the Courtyard area I died and got stuck like that. Meaning I had to do everything all over again or just quit. F***ING GREAT!
Alright, I think that's it. Seriously, I had to get this off my chest, I was so PISSED OFF by those things I wouldn't even know how to find the words to describe it. Aside from that, keep up the good work. Hopefully you'll take some of the above into consideration when designing new content for this game.
