Summary

Soulmate wife murdered, character doesn't care and loses stress

Description

Pretty sure this isn't intended, and very immersion-breaking: my character's wife has been his soulmate and friend ever since the marriage, i.e. for 29 years. He's enormously pious and loyal. There is a murder plot against her that I noticed too late. So far, so tragic and interesting. The problem and I think bug: when she is assassinated, my goody-two-shoes character doesn't give a damn about losing the love of his life and in fact loses stress. This is so nonsensical that I don't feel like playing on as this character.

Steps to reproduce

Load up the game, run it for about 10 days, the assassination and corresponding popup will invariably fire.

Seems like a scope issue and I think it is a bug too. You should only get that description if you get into this branch in death_management.1000:

limit = {
OR = {
has_any_bad_relationship_with_root_trigger = yes
opinion = {
target = scope:dead_character
value < -30
}
}
}
save_scope_value_as = {
name = dislike
value = yes
}

Could you post a screenshot of your opinion of her? She has both excommunicated and two sins so it might be has_any_bad_relationship_with_root_trigger that gets you into this branch here.

You are correct this one is not re-scoped, it should be
Code:
scope:dead_character = { has_any_bad_relationship_with_root_trigger = yes }

But I wonder if relation/opinion are still accessible when the character is really considered "dead" by the code which seems to be the case here.

Probably a silly question, but how do I display my opinion of her? In CK2, you could see your character's opinion of other characters, but I thought that was removed in CK3.
If she was landed, I could character-switch to her (and I cannot grant a title to her to enable that).

Might have to enter debug console or use a mod like In My Humble Opinion.

The Bug here is, that Paradox hides the Player Character's Opinion of other Characters, because this Event triggers, if your Character has a low Opinion on them, if your Character has high Opinion, they would get stress for losing an beloved one.
