completly unrelated to EUII, but i stil need help

i reformatted my C drive cause it had tons of crap on it and i got a pop up every 10 sec, but now my speakers no longer work and when i run EUII it says

"EU has encountered a problem with your sound card. Blah Blah Blah..."

anywho any help would be aprretiated. Cause EUII isn't EUII with out the classical music in the bankground

Come On Computer Wizzes!!!

Where Are U?!

Have you fully updated your windows?
Have you updated your sound card driver?
Have you done the following?
1) Rename the AVI folder to AVI_back
2) Set the color depth to 16BIT
3) Turn off everything in the background like E-mail/ICQ/Messenger, Virus protection and everything in the system tray beside the clock.

well its not just for EUII the speakers just simply don't work

so how do update all that stuff

Well your windows start menu should have a link to windows update.
And for the sound driver go to the website for your soundcard, example Soundblaster cards go to www.creative.com .

how do i know wat sound card i have?

Well that should be listed on your bill.

You can get a good idea by Start menu - run - then type Dxdiag
Go to the sound tab and it should list your sound card specs.

Or if you have Onboard-Sound the drivers should be on your Mainboard-Drivers-CD.

But it is the latest ones we want. ;)

First we need to get his sound card running don't we?

Why install an old driver then patch to the new, much better to just install the latest.

If you still have trouble or cannot figure out what to do then :

Please run a DirectX Diagnostic:
Start menu –Run - then type Dxdiag, then select each tab across the top of the window, and run the tests on each tab. Then select “Save All Information” button in the lower right of the window. This will bring up a dialog box to allow you to select a name for the file where the information will be saved. You can save it right on the desktop as this will make it easy to find. Then copy the contents of that file from the start to the heading that says “DirectX components” then paste what you have copied into a post in this thread.

Hmm!
Do you really play with no sound or just no Music?

There is no way to turn sound off and there is no way to install the game without a sound card present.
You can turn music off in the config program and you can turn the volume down for the sound, the sounds however still attempt to play.

I have istall the sound card.
I was accustom because when my parents lay me at study some time I go to play but for not do listen from my parents I lay the volume at 0

Setting the volume at zero and turning the sound off are two very different things.

Hmm!
That is what I said, I think you miss the whole point.
