First time posting here, so apologies if I'm going about this wrong. I'm posting this here in case someone else has the same issue.

Following the new patch/s, when I started the game through the launcher (all mods unticked, all DLCs ticked), the game wouldn't appear to run, though I would hear the music. Alt-tab showed me that it had launched but with a black screen. Following the instructions for '3. Whenever I start the game in fullscreen I get a black screen and after a few seconds the game crashes' at https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/index.php?threads/known-issues-and-solutions-to-them.585481/ did not work, although running it in windowed mode did work.

I resolved this issue by setting 'fullscreen=no', while setting 'borderless=yes' in "Documents\Paradox Interactive\Crusader Kings II\settings.txt".

I don't know whether the new patches caused this issue or if it was something else as, I hadn't played immediately before or after the patches, but the game worked fine in the past.

This was caused by the recent major Windows 10 update. Whether a fix needs to come from them or the video card vendors is not clear to me, I'm sorry.
