On start up cursor is incorrectly positioned. Fix in replies

Game Version

What version do you use?
(DID NOT ANSWER QUESTION)

What expansions do you have installed?

Do you have mods enabled?

No

Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
I started the game, but the cursor can't click the buttons. I move the cursor up and I can click the buttons, but only when my cursor is above the buttons. This persists after closing the game and starting again.

Steps to reproduce the issue.
Start game. Cursor wrong.

Same problem. Disappeared when I managed to change screen resolution. Reappeared when I tried swiching back. Only present for me in 2560 X 1440 resolution (of the ones I tried). Cursor offset is variable and appear proportional to distance from left screenedge.

3.8.1 (cdec), all expansions, no mods.

Same problem here. Visual mouse cursor is offset from its actual position (registering highlights and clicks) to down and right. At first I thought that mouse clicks don't register at all. Switching from fullscreen to windowed fixed the problem.

Could return to original resolution (2560 X 1440) without problems by going windowed, thanks.

The devs think this is an issue related to the resolution and Direct X 11. In the launcher, go to Game Settings, and ensure that your resolution is set correctly. Also choose Borderless fullscreen or windowed mode.

Since we've also recently transitioned to DX11, you can try updating your drivers.

Changing my resolution fixed the problem.

I solved the issue by accident by alt tab in and out of the game. The issue appears with the next restart of the game, but the alt-tab seems to work until the issue is resolved.

Follow the instructions in this post and you won't have to wait :)

This is the exact same issue that I reported already in the open beta. Hope it won't be ignored this time now that other people are getting it.

And, yes, my resolution IS set correctly and my drivers are up to date.

Yes, sorry, I should have clarified that the issue is with fullscreen only. Borderless windowed avoids the problem. When I am on fullscreen, though, my resolution settings are indeed correct. I checked this both in the launcher and in-game.

And I also tried alt-tab while in fullscreen, and that also fixes the issue when it snaps back into the program. So this is not a showstopper in that I do have workarounds.

The only clue I have as to what is happening is when I start the game in fullscreen it does something odd. It displays the Stellaris logo in the center of the screen as normally at first, and a few seconds later it switches to the fullscreen loading screen. Just a split second before it does, the whole screen seems to elongate to the right slightly and becomes slightly blurry. This does not happen if I start in borderless windowed mode.

Just adding that the bug is in our bug database.

We have just released a hotfix that have a potential fix for this issue.
Version: Gemini V3.8.2 (947b) Build ID:fa0339dffe0
