Hi all,
so I've been playing the mod quite a lot lately and I've had an idea for a sub-mod that I think might be quite fun to play.
I'm thinking of making a sub-mod that adds a series of events that would effect fleets that travel through the waters around the Stepstones isles (like the smoking sea events) to simulate the piracy in those waters. as is the pirates can raid but only against land provinces.
I want to write a series of events that will go off maybe 10% of the time that a fleet passes through (only when there is a king of the Stepstones that is not at war(would be busy with other things)) that will give the pirate king the option to let the fleet pass in peace (more likely if army is large, same culture group maybe), the option to raid the ships (chance to destroy a percentage of the fleet, slave camp level in capital, cash, prestige, negative traits if successful or if unsuccessful you lose levies, prestige and a large opinion malus with vassals), or to offer you're services (unlikely for AI, more chance if same culture group).

another possibility I was considering was if I can't directly effect the armies size then maybe just imprison the commanders that pass through?

wanted to know if it is possible to do all of this, and if so would anyone have any ideas?
or would anyone even be interested in using it?

edit: maybe a variant on the duel system, duel the enemy commander, increases/decreases odds of success

This does sound like a very interesting sub mod idea. However, as my modding knowledge is limited, I can only assume that the option to imprison the captain of the fleet is viable, and I know parts of what you said in Paragraph 1 can be done (give wealth, prestige, traits, opinion modifiers to the Pirates) I bet more is as well, but like I said, it's a bit out of my league.

How about the pirate demands a price for free passage. If you do not pay up, there is a chance of you bring imprisoned depending on your military abilities and the size of your host (if possible). Then you could be hostile to the pirate king for some time afterwards.

I think it's be more fitting to decrease all trade, going through the stepstones. the pirates are to weak to attack a military fleet and more in the league of attacking coastal settlements and trading ships. And afaik there is an event where a family member gets imprisoned by pirates and they demand a ransom wich is enough for my taste.

Greetings

It would be neat to have a Westerosi version of "War of Piracy" with this. I don't have much experience with having a King of the Stepstones and interacting with The Stepstones in my games because I'm usually in Essos. However, a retaliation CB or a pirate eradication CB that allows you to send settlements into the stepstones to force a culture change to yours would be cool to have. Beats the options of trade wars and county title wars that we currently have.
