I'm going to start a youtube series playing this mod soon, I want the series to be about 25 episodes 30-minute long. Typically I like to play starting small and becoming king/emperor as the goal of the series. What do you think would be a good character to start with to make an entertaining series within those constraints? (I'm just an 'ok' CK2 player, I don't use exploits or anything so I'm not one of those that conquer the world in 3 generations if that helps).

Play as Salladhor Sahn in the Stepstones, unify the Stepstone pirates and enslave all of the Iron Throne's Lord Paramounts and the King. I had a lot of fun doing it.

I enjoyed playing with house Fossoway of Cider Hall. It's a direct vassal county of the Reach and you can form the duchy easily with claiming few counties. A lot of single counties are also part of Reach so you can gain power in this lordship.
Plus, you have special nicknames (apple if my memory is correct) created for this family

Honestly i enjoyed the rogue prince scenario most of all and having him and his line conquer the free cities and re-establish the Valyrian Empire. Even went to war and surrendered on purpose in order to give up all claims on the iron throne. now my Daemon is 53 years old and firmly established the Targaryen Dynasty in Essos. I suggest if you do this to event colonize Ny Sar as its potentially the best province in Essos.

I'd say, either the Hightowers of oldtown in the reach or the duchy of ashemark in the Westerlands.
Both start in good positions with oldtown usually having the shortest winters and having a large number of vassals, including the citadel which give a good amount of money,
or the duchy of ashemark (different family depending on period) is in a strong military position with only one way in our out, and I think 2 small gold mines in the duchy gives a decent amount of gold

Cheat a bit at the beginning to give House Mudd head a county in the Riverlands, try to get your independance back (and your old seat) once Lord Paramount. Try to choose a starting date when Targaryen (as dragonlords) rule Westeros. I like this scenario, even if it's quite common.

Tried this, but raiding is not really my thing.

Tried this, but is it normal for the game to be civil war after civil war after civil war? Played for a few years and had like 5 general civil wars.

-The restoration of House Reyne maybe? and end the feud my marrying a lannister?
-Roleplay as a last blackfyre struggling to survive in Essos long enough to take the Iron throne.
-Play as a cadet branch of a main house(may have to set the scenario up first by playing the main house until you get the desired bastard)
-Do you prefer not to play as merchant republics?

Pirates seem to be less flesh out ironborn although the pirate den buildings are hilariously op. capture a large castle and build a pirate port = personal levy of 20k easy.
Sacked king's landing and took all the targaryen women as concubines that way.

Wish it didn't work as religion mechanic and more so the -75 relation hit (i'd fear cthulu worshipping vikings more than lysene pirates tbh)

Hightowers are really fun

Will try the Hightowers. This is in the latest start right? Should I play as a Count or as the Duke (considering the 25 x 30 min. episode guideline for a 'just OK' player)?
Try playing as a Count for more of a challenge.

I'd suggest a duke, as a count you don't tend to have enough power or money to do much whereas a duke you can do more stuff, makes for more interesting videos I'd think.

The only problem with the last start date is spoilers if this is going on youtube. I'd play as the duke of oldtown and try to gain the reach and move its capital to the true cultural capital of westeros, oldtown. Invading the arbour could be fun but, seeing as gerold hightower commanded Aerys' kingsguard and died at the tower of joy, you could try to support a targ restoration and maybe marry one too. I found it fun

Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I tried the Hightower duke (old, incapable, died in like 3 days) but didn't find much to do. Initially I sent my diplomat to fabricate claims on the east bordering provinces, when he succeeded, I realized there is an impassable region between us. So basically I can only go North, and little by little. I grew bored after a while.

When you become bored in Westeros.... Go to Essos. i actually like it better there and i have over 850 hours in CK2. and i promise you that at least 500 of that is AGOT.
