Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
Hi all. I got a problem. On sol 205, the game started crashing while saving. Both for manual save and autosave.
If you load an earlier save, such as sol 190 or sol 200, then the game does not crash when saving. It all starts with 205 Sol.
I also tried to turn off autosave, and continue playing after sol 205. Played 5 sols, no crashes. But as soon as I tried to save, it crashed I'm assuming the crash is triggered by something happening on the map at 205 Sol. I just can't figure out what. I also tried my last game, on sol 450+. Didn't find any crashes.
Also, to rule out a problem in hardware or drivers / software, I tried to play from a laptop. Same problem.
If you start a new game, naturally there are no crashes.
The AppData\Roaming\Surviving Mars\crashes folder contains no files. What other information can I provide? Is there any tool to understand why the game is crashing?
Also i use mods: UCP - Unofficial Content Pack, Research Breakthrough, Unlimited Capital Cities. It is not possible to disable the UCP as the game will not load without it. Disabled other mods and problem persists. In UCP's defense, I'm on my 4th game with it now and never had a problem before.

I'm afraid we cannot help with modded games here, and disabling mods does not remove effects they have already had on the save game file.

If you ever get this problem in a colony that's never had any mods used in it, please upload it here!

I have same problem on XBOX S, all DLCs without mods. It crashes so randomly that playing the game over sol80 is just a waste of time - it will crash, mostly when saving or finishing some mystery. Anyone met such problem???

I would like to have it fixed, TBH, I contacted MS, because I bought this game plus add-ons via MS Store. Good news for everyone, if game wont work they are delighted to give money back (you loose your game). 2nd option - pay via card and do charge-back from your card - you will loose your game too, but still money back - then your bank insurance takes care of everything. . For charge-back screenshot of such conversation like on this forum is enough to start complaint procedure, for MS too.

Just turned off automatic save, although it keeps popping up and crashing my game.

Any suggestions? As it's driving me crazy as it keeps causing the game to malfunction.

Support confirmed to me this is a known issue, but no fixes yet. I’ve not bothered playing this game now for several months which is a shame. I am also likely to avoid Paradox games as the devs don’t want to fix things.

Tell them to get off their asses and fix it once and for all, I am sick and tired of having to deal with the same problem as its been occuring for two years now possibly three.

I wonder can we report them in bbc watch dog?

i've got the same problem on playstation, but the error occurred on different dates and runs (sol 138, sol 599, sol 798). well ... let's just say i'm not happy with this.
