What is your game version?


Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
For some reason now every time I try to start the game a pop-up graphic within the game says "Error: failed to save your settings"

The only way out is to restart my computer.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can you replicate the issue?

Anything useful in the logs?
C:\Users\{Username}\AppData\Roaming\Surviving Mars\logs\

What antivirus app do you use? Add steam.exe and marssteam.exe to its Exceptions list. And this folder, which is where settings get written:
C:\Users\{Username}\AppData\Roaming\Surviving Mars\
