Description
Game freeze yet camera controls work, no clicking possible, radio works

What is your game version?
227,923

Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
ISSUE: The game freezes. I'm not able to click anything, nothing moves and the time is not moving. I have full camera controls though so I can still move around but nothing beside that. Particle effects and other are frozen as well. The music plays normally. Keyboard controls do not respond unless they are tied to camera movement. Can't progress, had to force shutdown manually through windows manager. lost some progres since no auto save was made in the meantime.
WHAT I DID/POSSIBLE CAUSES: When a passenger rocket arrived and colonists started to disembark and run to the dome I have paused the game. Then I reassigned workers in the buildings to match their specialties (by force removing them manually from the occupations and then manually choosing workplace for them). This was 3rd rocket and population was abut to rise to 37 (3x12+1child). Those were mostly engineers and geologist -> 2 extractors (metal and rare metal) and 3 factories (machine, electronics, polymers) within dome vicinity. I also noticed that there was one colonist who was earthsick and was heading to rocket, I saw she was also homeless so I tried to assign her to home to possibly make her stay. Also some other random colonist also showed status "homeless" despite 2 apartment buildings in the dome present with lots of room to spare. I also assigned him a home manually. When I unpaused the game it is usally the time when it "crushess/freazess", maybe after 2-5 seconds. I play at highest video settings but I haven't experienced any fps drops or performance issues up to this point.

Can you replicate the issue?
Yes. I've loaded the previous save and played replaying most of my decisions and once again when the rocket had arrived with 3rd batch of colonist it crashed/freezes exactly the same way at roughly the same trigger.
Ariving colonist consisted of 3 geologist,5 enginers 2 medics 1 botanist 1 security specialty.

EDIT:
I have checked two times.

The game crushes when I assign a home to the leaving earth sick colonist. When I selct her, press assign home button and press apartment and unpause the game it crushes 100% times :)

I Would include the save file but don't know where to find it sorry ;)

Yes! Had the same issue. At the time I didn't make the connection to the leaving colonist and therefore wasn't able to pinpoint what exactly caused it (although it kept happening as after each crash I obviously had to load from the latest save). Now it makes sense though. Colonist is earth sick, rocket lands, he tries to leave, I manually reassign his residence again so he stays and then the game crashes.

I've run into the same issue several times (game frozen except for camera panning, have to force-kill). I haven't had any earth sick colonists, but I'm pretty sure each time was right after I paused to fix colonist assignment between two nearby domes and then got the freeze when I tried to unpause.

It seems like sometimes manually telling them to switch domes or switch jobs doesn't actually work and after telling them again what to do is what triggers the freeze? But I'm not 100% sure on that.

This is super annoying because the colonists are such idiots when it comes to determining which nearby dome to live in when they arrive and which job to take. Maybe instead of complaining about not having a job after just getting off the rocket you should have gone to the neighboring done (that was also in range) where there were plenty of available jobs and living space? And no, Mr. Botanist, you shouldn't give up your job at the farm to go work in the mine (yes, both buildings were at the same priority).

Hopefully the bugs get worked out quickly, because I am enjoying the game when I'm not banging my head against these issues. :)

Sorry I can't find it :(
I use Steam version, maybe it saves at different path?

No, steam saves it in this spot too. It's possible that you have the "show hidden folders" option in Windows disabled - then you wouldn't be able to see the "AppData" folder.
Either enable it in your windows explorer options or just press [Windows key + R] and type "%appdata%" (without the quotes). Then you'll be in the roaming folder described above and just have to find the Surviving Mars folder.

I've had this problem. I've been able to track it down to the reassignment of colonists from one dome to another. I, also, had passengers landing, but none leaving. Very early game. The freeze for me always occurred shortly after moving a few colonists from one dome to another while at the same time assigning their place of work. I like to do this in a paused state, but I've tried getting it done really fast while not paused. The first one or two always go fine. Then I notice that the colonists go unresponsive. They either revert to their previous state, or, more commonly, they are marked as homeless and unemployed. Plenty of room and work to be had... After maybe a few seconds of game play, BAM! Freeze. Game camera and PC otherwise work fine. I went through a process of moving and employing one colonist at a time, and then allowing the colonist to actually move before reassigning the next colonist. This seemed to work, but as I can't indicate the actual problem... I hope this is pinpointed/fixed soon. I like to plan stuff out, and make a lot of changes at one time.

I´ve the same Problem. But my game always just freezes, no matter what I'm doing and only since I'm on Sol 44. I can Play 1-2 hours and than it freeze, i must close the game over the taskbar and then comes the Windows message that the program does not respond. And i must start the Computer new that i can play again.

Have run into this problem 3 times today. Always occurs when trying to assign a colonist to new living quarters. The game freezes, but I can still pan the camera, and music plays, but all other functions stop working. I have to force close the game and hope that an auto-save was recent. Several times I did a lot of work, it was all lost, and had to try and remember what was done. Very frustrating.

Hey!

I have finally learned how to find save game :D SO i provide save game with this particullar issue.

There is a medic in game store. When rocket unloads the arriving colonists she walks out of the store.
There is an information announcement "colonists have arived" followed by "coloniss are leaving" Then I press the earthsick medic and assign her home to apartment and.... it freezes :]

Hope that helps ;D
