Description
Game frequently crashes, appears to happen most frequently when zooming in

Windows

Steam

Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
When I am playing the game with a small colony, my game will frequently do one of two things:
1. The game freezes and I cant move the mouse, but the music still plays and I can hear the announcer telling me of research completed and such. I have to use task manager to close the game and reopen
2. Same thing as #1, but this time the windows crash message comes up and closes the game.

This seems to happen the most when I am zooming in from the exploration survey view down into the main map, but it also just randomly happens when I am moving the camera around on the map. I have attached multiple logs from the same game. Due to this frequent crashing I am unable to make any good progress I the game as I constantly lose progress, even if I save every day in the game. any assistance would be appreciated.

Can you replicate the issue?
yes, it happens frequently every 20-30 minutes. I have opened new games on different maps and it doesn't resolve the issue. It always happens when the camera is moving, usually when it is zooming in from the exploration survey far out view.

Check the System log in Event Viewer.

Search Event Viewer in Start Menu.
In the window arrow nest to system logs
select System

Check for a warning event at the same time as your crash in the logs that come up.

Mine was that the game is causing my graphics driver to crash constantly.

[d3d11 error] ..\HR\reRenderDevice-d3d11.cpp(3243) : 1444735208 : The video card has been physically removed from the system, or a driver upgrade for the video card has occurred. (-2005270523)
Check for an updated driver

If that doesn't help, this is almost certainly a hardware problem, most likely the GPU overheating. Check what GPU and CPU temps you get before running the game, then after about 10 minutes play. If either approaches or exceeds 80c, that's the problem for sure.
