Description
Vehicles not using tunnels for quickest path

What is your game version?
227,923

Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
No mods used.
Running Windows 10

The vehicles do not always use the tunnels for their quickest path to their destination. See attached snaps as evidence. This seems to happen with all vehicles. I incorrectly labelled the vehicle in the snapshot as a rover but this vehicle was an explorer.

Can you replicate the issue?
Yes

If its not supported then I HATE the fact that I have to micro manage my vehicles on the direction they must take....whats the point of tunnels if I have to manually tell them to use it!

Don't know, was just stating a possible reason :)
I agree with you. Vehicles needs to have smarter pathfinding!

They are probly using an A*/raytracing hybrid pathfinder algo with a limited set of steps. This is understandable for the drones but not for the RC units.
For these units they should use a Bi-Directional Dijkstra algo on the sector level, this would result in the rover finding the best possible way to it's target thrugh tunnels and all, and always be able to identify unpassable terrain with a very low computing cost.
