Description
[win10] System Freezes while playing Surviving Mars

Windows

Steam

What is your game version?
2622059

Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
Game freezes my desktop PC, forcing me to manually shutting it down. This could happen after several hours I'm playing or after a few minutes, and happens only while playing SM.

Can you replicate the issue?
Yes, almost every time I play the game

Please attach here the game logs:

DXDIAG is a program you run from a command prompt or the Windows start menu 'run' dialog box (or 'search programs' in Windows 7 or later). After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Please report the temperatures of your CPU and video (GPU)
1/ before starting the game up and
2/ after say 10 minutes' play.
If your PC's vendor has given you no way of reading temperatures, install
SPEEDFAN http://www.almico.com/sfdownload.php

Thanks for the reply.

I've uploaded the dxdiag and the most recent log, from a game session ended with a system freeze.

CPU temps are ~45 while not playing and ~80 while playing.
GPU temps are ~45 while not playing and ~60 while playing.

I know the temps are a bit high, but these seems to be "normal" for my system .

I see no issues in those files. There are no crashes from MarsSteam.exe in dxdiag, which is an indication the problem comes from outside the game.

System freezes are almost always hardware or driver faults, and overheating is the most common one. 80c is my trigger point for concern, I think you need to address that.
Clean out all air vents it has (compressed air cans are good for this). Make sure airflow to them is not blocked by anything like walls, books or whatever.
If that doesn't drop the temps enough, you probably have a faulty fan or a heatsink/thermal paste problem. You may need professional help at that point.

I've tried everything over the years to have better temperatures, but never really seen any significant progress. I guess its time to migrate on my laptop until I have the money for an upgrade:)

Thanks for the help
