Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
i have played tens of hours on my xbox one x, but i can't open the game in my profile on any other concole - even to start a new game. it crashes after the main menu for "easy,' "new game" or "load game"

Can you replicate the issue?
yes, can't load on any xbox one, only my xbox one x that i started playing on.

Uh! Right, this was the issue I was facing. Now I 'lost' a save as it was syncing by doing this *workaround* So. Please do be FOREWARNED if you try this!


First thing is first.
Open your My Games and Apps tab on the dashboard.
Now, scroll to your Surviving Mars game, press the Menu Button and click on Manage Game. From here it's relatively easy

• Manage Game - this where you'll be able to remove save files and cache.
• Saved data - this is where Cloud saves and HD save files are stored.
• Detete all - Deletes all save files.(don't worry its all backed up to the Cloud. This is important, because it will force the game to Sync with your old saves.)

Once you've deleted them. Boot up your desired Xbox One console, and repeat the same steps (in case it's stored/ backed up on the internal HDD) and boot up the game.
The game will automatically detect and Sync your save files. It will give you two options. Remove old saves and start afresh. Or in my case, force it to recognise the save files on the cloud. It will say something along the lines of "Sync with previous Cloud save" (something along those lines, this is just off the top of my head) and from here, you'll either notice that your Previous saved game is no longer there. OR you'll be lucky enough and the last known sync will have updated correctly! In my case, it was the save file from the day before. I was somewhere around Sol 150. And the Cloud Sync save failed.

I reckon that if you're in the middle of Saving. And it doesn't complete - crashes to Dashboard - - this is where you run into the issue of not being able to Sync up properly with other (Xbox) Consoles.

Give it a shot. What have you got to lose? (apart from a corrupted save.. Apparently)

Fix above did not work for me :-(

I have the latest update, the one that came out yesterday. The game ran fine after the update and I played for several hours last night. Now today the game crashed no matter what I select on the screen after “press a button”. New game, load game, easy start, crash crash crash. I’ve deleted the saved games, did hard reboot of system, unplugged the consol. Etc nothing has helped.

Am not sure why logging off for the night would break the game.

Am going to now try logging in under my wife’s profile after hard reboot to see if a fresh user has any issues.

Ok, the game loaded fine using my wife’s profile, who has never played the game... I hope this helps y’all find the problem.

I loaded her up without rebooting the system.
