Swords and Seduction

Ok first question is there anyway to get ancestral swords back in the family? I'm playing as Royce an recreated the kingdom of Runestone. Well I would love to get lamentation back but is that possible? There is no current owner it just shows up in my dead grandfathers portrait.


Second is there a way I expand the range of seduction other than just your own lands?

Hey there. I was playing a Royce game not long ago, and I was also very interested in Lamentation.
Lamentation was lost during the Dance (IIRC there was a Royce in KL at the time when a mob attacked the dragon pit and killed guards and dragons, Royce among them. We only know it was "lost", so I assume someone from the small folk stole it and who knows where the sword ended up) and I think it can't be retrieved. However, you can claim a new valyrian sword with the ambition "obtain valyrian sword" which will trigger the chain of events for this quest. After you finish the quest you can reforge the sword, but not into Lamentation. However, if you really are eager to have it, you can roleplay that you reforged your newly acquired sword as new, identical Lamentation and add it through the console (add_trait lamentation).

For your first question, it would be awesome to have a personalized ambition for families who lost ancestral items, like Reynes before Tywin killed them all to get Red Rain back, Ice for Starks before Tywin reforged it and even with that get Widow's Wail or Oathkeeper then rename it Ice again? But yeah, you're stuck getting a new sword if you don't console Lamenation back. I personally don't like the majority of the swords you can reforge. It would be really cool if you could name the sword you get while choosing what image it is.

To your second question, I think you can abduct your target then seduce her in your dungeons.

In this case you dont have to seduce, you can 'visit chambers'.

Dang I was hoping to get the sword back. I may just cheat and console the sword.

Also I was talking about moding seduction back to how it is in vanilla where you can seduce people in neighboring. Completing the eight is hard when you can go outside you own court/realm

do you thing that it will ever be possible to be able to name reforged swords or even dragons? both would be pretty cool. a few more different items that you cab reforge the sword into would be nice too.

I mean, you can name your child, grandchild, and other kinsmen who are still in your court, why can't you name dragons that are hatched in your court? The swords may be more complicated, I have absolutely no experience in Crusader Kings 2 modding, no experience in any forms of modding there are, so I can't say for certain what process you could rename a forged sword.

The naming interaction is hardcoded to the birth of your children (and other kin born in your court, if you have the customization DLC) and is not available for modding.

Some of you seem to be interpreting the obtain a valyrian sword quests mechanics wrong, if you succeed and have a family sword which is not currently held such as lamentation then you will get that sword as opposed to a generic one

Oh, I never new that. Does this work the same for destroyed swords? Could Robb Stark get Ice through the quest even though it was melted down to Oathkeeper and Widow's Wail?

Robb stark can go to war with the lannisters to reforge oath keeper and widow's wail into ice. There is a special cb.
