Amidst news that there is toxicity against the devs on the Paradox forum, I want to make something very clear, I think Paradox did alright by Imperator at the end eventhough it had a rocky launch. I was on the other hand allright with what the game was like after the initial patches. I hadn´t expected that much more than a reworked EU:Rome with modern graphics. So the Marius update sort of blew me away. I really must say that eventhough the game was great after Cicero, after Marius it´s one of the best games that has come from PDS in my opinion.

I sincerely hope that after everything settles down in the reorganization, that you give this game as much love as you have given CK2 and EU4. If you don´t, I don´t blame you. There is a business perspective after all, eventhough we fans tend to see the fans perspective all the time, Imperator must be financially viable in the long run, to keep up the support with patches, updates, etc.

The toxicity means they care. Maybe a little too much (or even a lot too much); but it's much better than having forums that no one posts on.

I'm not expecting they'll return, but I do hope they can figure things out and reboot development of this great game.

I pre ordered Imperator and was very much disappointed about how shallow it was. Then I gave it a go after some patches released and it seemed to be getting to an OK status. Then they released 2.0 and the game became instantly amazing.
I was very very pissed off at EU4's state with the new DLC and so on. But when I then saw the post about Imperator... I flipped out - to put it mildly.
Paradox manegment deserve to get called out on everything they are doing with theese games.

The sad truth is that, while Imperator is without a doubt the better of the two games, EUIV is a commercial success while Imperator is not. I can't blame them for pulling resources from Imperator to work on more games which earn them more money. Even though EUIV is by now a bloated mess which should probably be put out to pasture.

Somebody should probably make an EUIV mod for Imperator just to draw the players from EUIV to Imperators ;)

Well I can. And I will. With the absolute state EU4 is in right now giving me a completely morally justified CB against them.

After about 8 years of no gaming at all due to many problems in life, I finally returned to gaming this year and I am so glad I found IR. I grew up playing games like Caesar, Pharaoh, Age of Empires, Total War, etc. So I completely fell in love with IR, it was like finding the dream game which brings all the good things in those games into one package. I tried playing Civ6 and recent Total War games, they felt like rubbish, even with all the flashy shiny graphics. The feel and depth of IR is on a level that no other game can match. It's sad that IR is not becoming as popular as EU4 and CK3, I wish people at least gave it a try. I would like to thank the devs for this gem of a game, hopefully you'll resume it's development soon, because it's heartbreaking for me and I'm sure many others if this wonderful game will not see more love in the future.
