31 different AARs were listed here, and the top 2 battled it out off and on throughout the voting. In fact, thank goodness I caught an error on my side this morning in the accounting to make sure the results were accurate. That's how close it was. In truth, our bronze winner held the lead in early voting before the top 2 overtook it. In short, 3 great AARs found the top spots while so many other great ones found nomination. And so, here we are...the 2020 Narrative AAR of the Year is:

By a short margin, we have an excellent winner and many congratulations to @Le Jones! Hearts of Iron 4 representin'!

Thus our 2nd place winner is none other than our resident Fan of every year...

And rounding out the field with a strong showing becomes...

28 more AARs found nomination with some folks represented twice over and they were:

All told, an excellent list! I see nearly all games represented and some older and newer works as well. I am partial, to be sure, but it is always nice to see narrative thrive! Many congratulations to every one of these writAARs and most definitely to our winner @Le Jones !

Personally, thanks to those that voted for Song of Wessex, but it found reward last year and ended fairly early in the year. Truthfully, I am just proud some few folks remembered it and absolutely feel honored to be included among these excellent works!

So now, come one and all to give thanks, congrats and general words of celebration for these terrific AARs! :)

Congrats @Le Jones and @@stnylan, @Methone and all those nominated!

I'm not even sure what to say about finding myself in the last group other than to thank my readers.

Warmest congratulations to @Le Jones especially - what a great story, also to @stnylan for that innovative and somewhat disturbing tale and to @Methone and all the other nominees.

Thanks once more to @coz1 for all the hard work and to everyone who voted for my three pieces in this category - it’s deeply appreciated.

What a fantastic list! I’m with you, @coz1 – always good to see narrative so well represented. A sterling history for the genre on these boards, and the future (and indeed the present) look equally bright. :)

Congratulations to @Le Jones, @stnylan and @Methone for leading the charge, and well done of course to all nominated. Really excellent work all round.

I've been lured into the realm of HOI4, once more, by the works of @stnylan and @Le Jones ' . They've kept me coming back, at least until I'd read every last chapter they'd posted. Congratulations! I'm looking forward to discovering some more of the excellent narrative works on this list. Thank you also to those who have nominated Odin in this category.

Congratulations to our winners. Hopefully this will be a pleasant surprise for @stnylan when he returns from his leg breaking sojourn and may tempt @Le Jones back into updating his own masterpiece.

Ahem.

Thank you all, so much, hyperbole aside it was very touching to see a work that I have given little attention to during my illness and convalescence 'in lights'. I love the AAR, I love the fact that a WW2 simulation allows me to speculate on pretty discrete elements of the British constitution, and in the end, like all of you, I like spinning a yarn. I am deeply humbled by your goodwill, and will, a la Churchill, KBO.
