Denmark have stockpilled a lot of tropps on the small island of Gotland (support 18) but they have 60K there! They only die of attrition down to 55K! why! The Danes only have their capital left. Does the AI cheat?

Yep. But some people dont believe it. But, the AI can also have a lot of artillery and very little manpower. 
The support shown is how much the province will support an invader's armies. The amount for the owner of the province is something like four times that + 10 per level of the fortress.
the support number shown would be the support for YOUR troops if you invaded and were laying siege. the support number is much lower for invading armies than it is for home troops.
if you conquered the territory and it became one of yours, you would find out that the support would then be 55.

thats true but the danish ai is stupid anyway, always moving troops between skåne, gotland, själland and norway, never giving them any rest. Why??
Because it's trying to defend some key provinces and doesn't have enough troops to defend them all. Besides AI puts troops on the border with the country it has the worst relationship with in this case it's Sweden.

5x9 = 45
+10 / fortress level ie lvl 1 = 55 in support)
Enemy support owner comntrolled
2x9 = 18
Yes, and the fact that it stationed all its troops on Gotland is the already mentioned problem with the AI stationing islands too heavily. But be happy, so its really easy to invade Denmarks capital .

QUESTION: What would happen if you hacked the save game and moved the Gotland army to another location? Would the Danes leave them in the new location or ship them all back to Gotland?
