Summary​

The multiplayer mode is now critically broken following the Khans of the Steppe expansion. The moment someone plays or becomes an Adventurer, the game becomes unplayable due to instant and consistent Out of Sync (OOS) errors. (savegame gets corrupted)

Description​

Out of Sync (OOS) – Every Single Time as Adventurer.

Since the release of Khans of the Steppe, multiplayer games desynchronize within seconds of loading a save if any player is an Adventurer. We’ve tested this thoroughly:

• Both players created custom Adventurer characters.
• Let the game run for 2–3 in-game months (~1 minute).
• Saved the game.
• Reloaded the save -> OOS occurred within seconds, every time.
• Repeated the process multiple times.
• Switched host machines.
• Reinstalled the game from scratch on both PCs (including full user folder wipes).
• No mods, clean installs.
• Two high-end PCs with 1 Gbit/s fiber connections.

Result: Multiplayer is broken as soon as an Adventurer(player) is present.

Steps to reproduce​

• Both players created custom Adventurer characters.

• Saved the game.
• Reloaded the save -> OOS occurred within seconds, every time.
• Repeated the process multiple times.

Landed Characters Still Work as player, until they become Adventurers.

You can test it very easy and fast. Just follow the steps as explained. Load the game and wait some seconds.

Yea me and a friend are getting the same, consistently crashes out-of-sync & no matter how long you let pass, older autosave, or rejoin it automatically out of syncs

I'm having the same issues with multiplayer. I stream community games of Crusader Kings III every Wednesday and Thursday with different groups of different sizes, and we're seeing random desyncs in our multiplayer game and are unable to rehost a game once it has desynced even restarting the game, verifying files, then rehosting the save, even older saves of the same run from the autosave all cause desyncs within a few in game days. We've now tried this with four groups in six games since the update, and all of them are now unplayable in multiplayer.

Same issue. Doesn't specifically happen when landed character becomes an adventurer, we haven't tested this, but playing multiplayer with landed and adventurer characters. Play for about half an hour before the game desyncs and are unable to reload the save on multiplayer without immediately desyncing.
