United Kingdom
Once again the tromphets of war has sounded over the countries in Europe, and once again, its the dictatorships in central Europe that has unleashed this curse opon humankind.
After subjugating Austria and Chechoslovakia with threats of using overwhelming military might to chrush any resistance the German hammer fell on the Poles. Even that they where far better prepared and had invested heavily in improving their military capabilities greatly aided by Military advisors from UK, which quickly advanced the polish military doctrines from Grand battle plan over trench warfare to Mass assault. However teaching the Poles to utilise the Pre planned defence doctrines where not achieved. Due partly to this and more importently the Polish High commands insistance to deploy its forces at the German border, turned the defence of poland into a disaster. The Polish troops crumbled rapidly to invading German armoured coloums and attempts to retreat behind the rivers where quickly made impossible by rapid german advances. The Polish troops where then stabbed in the back by Stalin, which removed any hope of resistance. The Polish campaign where as rapidly over as it had begun, with a total Axis victory within few weeks.
Belgium refused despite the threacherous behaviour of Germany to join the Allies. This in the end doomed the Dutch, since any attempt to aid Holland during the subsequent German invasion where made impossible. However the Valiant Dutch troops where at the brink at destroying a German light armoured divisions in Antwerp, but the situation where stabilised by German reinforcements rushed into Antwerp.
After Dutchs resistance was subjugated, 170 French divisions reinforced by strong mobile Canadian and British army's where poised to advance into Belgium in the expected German attack on that country.
At 1 of October the Germans unleashed their divisions in an attempt to quickly overrun Belgium.
The first Canadian Mobile Army quickly moved into Belgium through Mons to Brussels and succeded in completely halting the German advance. At the sametime British and french Reinforcements where rushed into Ghent and Namur. These troops movement succeded in completely halt any further German advancements into Belgium.
The behaviour of the Canadian divisions in this operation will be studied for years to come by military strategist around the world. They managed to hold the front in Belgium by rapid troop movement to any spot where German attacks where getting dangerous.
After months of fighting in Belgium the Axis tried to push into the southernpart of france through Nice and Grenoble. These attacks almost succeded but fresh portugese troops rushed to the front stabilised the situation. However after the Axis defeated the Yugoslav army and fully annexed that country they moved additional divisions to the French and Italian border. These fresh troops finaly managed to break through into France in January 1940. The germans then redeployed its armor to this front which doomed the defence of souther france. The Allied troops has however managed to make a orderly retreat into central France, sofar only one French infantry division has been cut of, and risk annihalation.
The french commanders report that they will be able to stop the Axis advance as soon as the French forces can regroup behind the rivers.
In the Air there have been several engagements. Sofar the British Fighters has dominated the sky where ever they have been deployed in mass. This has cost lots of casualties for especially Italian Navalbombers.
Belgium and British bombers has taken serious beating though. Belgium Bomber sqaudrons are not combat effective anymore.
The morale of the Allied headquarters are high. The extensive training exercises held in summer 1939 by the Allied Armys with the aide and supervision of Military advisors from USA, has now payed its dividends. The tactics adopted, by the experince gained in these exercises, where first introduced by Lt. Gen. Tempus Shukov. These tactics where kindly made available to us, by the Soviet high command, when they realised the danger to Soviet Union by a Europe under the German banner.
Now we have to prepare for the final battle for France. Massive combined German and Italian army's are now advancing through southern France. They must be stopped.
The fate of humanity rest on the shoulders of the remaining Allied countries.
