Atruejedi, let me tell you this: This is *EXCELLENT* work mate. Like Xie said, the vibrant colours really give a nice touch!

Very nice work... Especially since you spent so much time on it.

Quite sexy. I like how you changed a lot of colors without going crazy, like making France yellow.

Downloading as I type, Bolivia and Brazil being the same colour isn't as bad as Mexico and the US being the same green (I'm looking to *you* Stony Road*)

Hey, they aren't the same color. Brazil is what I call "Hungarian Green" while Bolivia is "Italian Green!"

If you are going to say they are the same color, you have to say that Uraguay, with its "Finnish Blue," is the same as Argentina, with its "Swedish Blue." ;)

If you have any better ideas, I would consider them... but understand that I am pretty set in my ways and treat this thing as my baby. Very defensive :mad: ;)

And no. Not white. :p

It's all about aesthetics... :cool:

It looks very nice. I would use were it not for you forgetting to change the UK's color to brown and change the agonizingly red color of the USSR. The age of redcoats is long over and that pinkyred color of England is a real eyesore. Did you alter the color pallette of the game or just rearrange the colors of the countries? I'm not sure cause after my first game of HOI2, I modded my mod colors, quite similiarly to yours, and can't remember what the original game looked like.

First, I have not forgot to change UK to brown. That pink was based off of old British maps (provided by The Great Allenby) of their Empire and is the exact color it should be. UK being brown just doesn't fit. If you don't like it, no one is forcing you to use it. :eek:o

Second, the entire pallette has been redone except for one or two colors (for example, black). :)

Lastly, once again, if you don't like the color of the USSR, do not use the mod. It is much less "agonizing" than HOI2's default color, and it is more menacing. Communism is a threat, not eye-candy! :D

:eek: :eek: :eek: :eek: Communism is a threat? I shalln't go into politics on this board............

I would go for "Norway" gray or maybe even "Germany" gray for Bolivia, but it isn't a big deal. Personally I think you did a great job, thanks for the mod :)

My fellow Nazgul - the guy can't help it, in his country they teach in school that all socialists eat little children for breakfast.

Anyway - nice mod. I have played HoI a lot (and probably will play HoI2 as well once this unexpected post-release beta phase is over), but always thought the bleak colours made the game extremely ugly. This looks much better.

Spare us the anti-American tirades. It was meant mostly in a historical context, seeing as most of the countries of the time, both democracies and fascist dictatorships, saw the USSR as a threat to their security.

Hey, that isn't true. :)

Communism = Bad
Socialism = Good

Blame Stalin and Mao for communism's tarnished image :p

Atruejedi, you should change the "or" in that sentence to "and absolutely nothing" to save yourself some anger.

Let me stop you right there. I am not angry, and I have in no way expressed anger to you or anyone else in my posts. If you don't like the mod, that is fine. I'm not going to lose sleep over it.

However, you accused me of "forgetting" to change England's color, which I did not... that was uncalled for and insulting. Please stop trying to pick fights :(

That's becuase the USSR was not a communist state. It was not a socialist state either. In fact the USSR was probably more authoritarian than Mussolinis fascists.

Congratulations on being able to mimic my post.

My reply wasn't meant to start an argument over the differences between Marxist thought and Stalinist methods, but to point out the reality that most countries saw the USSR as a threat. And while it is true that the Soviet Union wasn't a true communist nation, it is still going to be acknowledged as one in history because of the simple fact it claimed to be one. Most people, regardless of nationality, are going to think of the USSR as a communist nation for that reason. I don't even care if you think that true Marxism is the greatest ideology ever thought of; my point was mainly for you not to attack an entire country just because someone said something you didn't agree with, especially since the comment was made in a light-hearted matter on a game forum. Fervent anti-communism hasn't been considerable in the United States since the 1950s. It wouldn't be nice OR accurate for me to say that all Spaniards are taught to be right-wing, fundamentalist Catholics just because Franco ruled at one time, so I don't. All I ask is for the same courtesy in return.

Oh I no that the USSR was threatening, and many countries saw it as such. Sorry if I caused any offence :D.
