The Sprite Pack v3.6

Updated: October 11th 2003

I got frustrated with the poor quality of the default sprites in 1.05, and decided to put up a new sprite pack. It includes all the best sprites out there, but more importantly, all the crappy ones have been dropped out. All sprites have been chosen with my high standards (okay, there are a few less great ones in, but they wait to get replaced by better ones), and they all are of the same "formula" as the original HoI sprites (pre-1.05 that is): same angle, relative size and similar overall look.

Many sprites have been reverted back to the original pre-1.05 HoI ones and some 1.05 sprites were retained, at least until they get a better replacement. There are also many new sprites, as listed below.

Where did you come up with that? The file is scanned with the latest and updated Norton Anti-Virus and it certainly doesn't have a virus.

Avast tells me it´s infected. And nothing else on my comp, or anything else I download is.
But maybe Avast doesn´t like the installer you used. In that case, I´m sorry.

Edit : from a quick search, it seams Avast has reported this virus with certain non-infected files. Edited original post. Hope I didn´t cause any hard feelings. Great sprites BTW / Johannes

I have Avast as well. I found the same thing so you're not alone von Rosen. Maybe Avast is on crack? I dunno.

I don't know how good program that Avast is, but some lesser quality anti-virus programs tend to find viruses from clean files. For example in the old times my McAfee Anti-Virus insisted that my Baldur's Gate installation contained a trojan. After that I've been always using either F-Secure or Norton products, and no faulty virus reports since.

Actually, Sekinoss himself already did just that

Did what? You mean another sprite pack? I haven't noticed...

Well not entirely, he compiled all *his* sprites in a sprite pack, being the majority of the sprites

Ah, I see. But this pack includes all the *best* sprites, regardless of the maker. :p

Well 'best' is very subjective, and I wouldn't be so dismissive to people who've made an effort to make Sprites... there are some I do and don't like, but since I've contributed a big fat ZERO number of sprites, I don't think I'm really in a position to judge quality openly...

One question; You say 'completely new sprites' - does this mean sprites not included in the Stony Road pack or previously appearing on this board - or do you mean, 'new' as in we've never seen it before?

They are the best ones available according to me. As I said in the first post...

New as compared to 1.05 or any previous pack. It includes sprites that have just come out, and new ones - if they satisfy me - are included immediately after their release. Of course Stony Road and other sprite packs are updated too.

I am having a problem...I installed the Sprites Pack , but the game freezes on the start screen. I have to restart using the double CTRL ALT DELETE. I am using ver 1.05
