The game works, but is much too slow and choppy for me to fully enjoy. The mhz is 466, which I believe to be sufficient. I suspect the problem is that I have only 64 mb of ram, and system resources are only 72% free. Is there anything I can do to make the game run more smoothly. Note: I do not have any ICQ or any other extraneous programs running when I play the game. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

More RAM would certainly help. System resourses appear to be a little low - are you sure only "Explorer" and "Systray" are running?

You might like to try "Cacheman" from :-

Its a free program that tweaks (quite painlessly) your registry and system settings to optimum. Very easy to use.

I have been using it to manage my virtual memory for over a year with definate results in memory hungry games.

Its not a large download and is worth trying.
Its also easy to turn on/off.

Also I have heard that turning the CD Auto Insert Notification off can make a difference. Apparently (I do doubt this a little) the system keeps initialising the CD Auto Insert resulting in a choppy mouse.

Again its worth a try....

Thank you for your advice Uglyduck, I will try that. :)

Let us know how you get on.
With this game you should not get a choppy mouse. If you do then it is almost certainly something at your end and not the program.

Keep in touch...........

Actually there is one thing I've been wondering about that. The game runs beautifully (speed wise, still having probs with crashes) up until about 1710 and then suddenly without ever having slowed at all before hand, it slams to a crawl. That is kind of weird.

Dominus

Dominus, I have the same problem. When reaching the end of the game the gameplay is really slow.

I figured that the reason is that the gameworld is getting larger and the AI calculations is likewise growing, and although I have 192 MB Ram and a PII 450 its simpy not enough to run the game at a fast pace.
