I'm trying to figure out how to move troops from my two provinces (principality of Crete) such that they are in position to attack the shiekdom of Syragusa on the island of Sicily.
It is unclear to me whether a search function for these forums exist, and so I did a google search that indicated that the procedure ought to be extremely simple. Something to the effect of click on your units then click on the destination. and the game will then transport them for you with no need to build or hire transports.
I've tried it and it ain't working.
What I've been doing is left-clicking on units then right-clicking on destination provinces. This results in a momentary yellow flash on the destination province and then brings forth a little circle under the unit with a bar inside that had a tiny bit of green on it.
I suspected that this was a marker for passage of time and that I was on the right track...........lo and behold 14 months later the little green line had barely advanced and my units were still scratching their butts in Crete and driving me into bankruptcy.
I've fooled around a bit trying to discover the way through trial and error. Rightclicking the unit doesn't seem to accomplish anything and leftclicking the destination doesn't either. I looked around at the settings on my options menu but they didn't appear to be responsible.
Does it really take years to sail from Crete to Zyragusa? Does the coast and the landing beach need to be cleared before embarkation let alone disembarkation? Can anyone offer me advice? Thank you in advance.
